ABOUT BHARATNATYAM

“Bharatnatyam” is one of the most popular classical and traditional dances of India. This dance has a rich history of dating back 2000 years. It is inspired from the sculptures of the ancient temples of Chidambaram (Southern India). The origin of Bharartnatyam is in Thanjavoor of Tamilnadu (Southern Indian state). Bharatnatyam is a dance form which makes use of the combination of Bhava (Emotion), Raaga (Music or Melody), Tala (Rhythm) and Natyam (Dance).
